Encryption of data at rest is becoming more and more important these days, especially when dealing with sensitive PHI or HIPAA information. Please help encrypt or at minimum give customers ability to only connect to storage using HTTPS alone in the interim.

yes, SQL Azure is only part of the problem. encryption at rest in Windows Azure storage is just as important

Supporting Transparent Data Encryption in SQL Azure would go along way with this.

I agree with this. In order to host many types of applications, especially healthcare, encryption will be a requirement.

Add Encryption capabilities to Azure Storage as well as SQL Azure
