At PDC 2010, we announced a number of enhancements to the operator experience on Azure. These include a completely redesigned portal, access to new diagnostic information, a vastly simplified sign-up process, and scenario-based forums to help answer questions and facilitate knowledge sharing.
These Windows Azure enhancements will be generally available by the end of 2010.
Please continue to let us know how we can improve the deployment experience on Windows Azure for you.

I agree, it seems slow as molasses!!! We also need better diagnostics and logging for these processes.

I fully agree, that is why Microsoft SQL Server 2008 has change tracking.

The Sync Framework tooling in VS2010 should work no differently with SQL Azure than with a local SQL database.

I would agree to pay more for this feature (as it adds to the size of the DB).

Hi Chris,
Have you seen our current news feed from the Associated Press? If not, you can find an overview here: http://www.pinpoint.microsoft.com/en-US/PartnerDetails.aspx?PartnerId=12884901889&ProductId=12884902241&CurrentTab=1.
You can explore the dataset by clicking the big orange “Trial” button on the right side of the page. This will take you to the Dallas Account and Subscription Management portal, where you’ll be asked to accept AP’s End User License Agreement. Once you do, you’ll be subscribed to the dataset and able to explore what it offers.
If you don’t already have a Dallas account, you’ll need a Live ID and a Dallas invitation code to create one. If you don’t already have a Dallas invitation code, you can request one at dinvite@microsoft.com.
Back to your suggestion… Is this what you had in mind?
Thanks!

The tooling must be unified, there should be no differences in developing for the enterprise or the cloud. I would really like to have database designer diagram and the query designer.

Thanks, we hear you loud and clear. We are working to bring Analysis Services to SQL Azure. Right now I can’t give you a date.

Again, there must be no differences between developing for the enterprise or the cloud.
